Almost every household or workplace would have a computer available, but with so many bigger and better programs coming out we have to constantly be able to upgrade our computer specifications, to keep up with speeds and processes. One of the most important aspects to upgrade is something called RAM which stands for Random Access Memory.

Basically the programs that people and myself use on a day to day basis, use the RAM temporarily to store files, so it can quickly and easily access them again, therefore if you can successfully increase the amount of Random Access Memory that your computer carries then you will top up the loading speeds as in actual fact it will process more from the RAM then it will from the hard drive.

Dependant on which computer you own you can have anywhere between two and 4 Random Access Memory slots available. You can these days get any size of RAM, ranging from around 1 GB to 4 GB and potentially more. So you could imagine how fast you could make your system if you had 4 slots all full of 4 GB RAM cards.

Adding Random Access Memory to your PC could not be any easier, the easiest process would be on a PC, where you lift up the base unit and open it up, you will then notice some RAM sticks in there, if you gently remove them and place the new ones in its place then the process will be complete. There is no fiddling around with screws or any other bits and bobs, they are all mainly clip in and clip out making it much easy to replace components.

Changing the Random Access Memory on a laptop can be a bit trickier especially if you an old model, this being said if you have an up to date model it should be as easy as releasing the screws from the back and the RAM is usually found under the battery department.

Looking after the hardware on your computer, should be just as important as any other task. A lot of people tend to greatly care for there computers via the operating system. So they basically have the right virus software in place and regularly defrag the drives. But when it comes down to upgrading there systems internally they totally neglect to do so which in fact can hurt your computer in more ways than you could imagine. What takes you a few minutes could add a longer lifespan to your system.
