Many want a portable device that will keep us connected to the Internet and yet be small and light enough to be carried around all day. A truly transportable device that keeps us connected with friends, family, and the web is desired by many.

Notebooks do also make for great student laptops. They are small with 10 inch displays or less, which make them ideal for students. They are usually very lightweight, around 2 or 3 pounds.

They are compact enough to insert in the school bag or backpack and small enough to carry around all day without developing a back problem. They are a very portable, mobile tool that can be used to stay connected to the web and friends at all times.

The mini notebook features even more fine qualities. Most notebooks are designed to be strong and tough. They can take a few tough knocks and still keep on functioning. Students are not exactly easy on their tools so a sturdy tough device is required to handle their demands.

You usually get better battery life than with a regular sized laptop due to the smaller size of the mini. This is vital to the student since many have to go long hours without a chance to recharge the battery. Long lasting battery life makes the notebook the perfect student laptop.

Although undersized, the mini notebook features some impressive performance stats. Many now come with at least 1 Gig of RAM and Intel Atom processors. There are even some with Solid State Hard Drives making them more durable and less likely to be damaged. Most use Windows XP with about 30 or 60 Gig hard drives which should be adequate for students.
